I had an ‘awful’ day at work today. So I went and watched the ducks at lunch.
I needed a break and retraced my steps in my Taking a walk blog post to a nearby lake.
It was a sunny day with clear blue skies. Not too cold, but not particularly warm either. I sat on a bench overlooking the lake. Directly in front of me was a couple of dozen ducks and geese, mainly attracted by the children feeding them. It was noisy but peaceful at the same time.
I sat and listened to the sounds, breathed in the smells. Felt the warmth of the sun on my face and really took in the visuals all around me.
Sure, on the walk back to the office my brain went back into overdrive, mulling over what had happened and planning what needed to be done. But for that brief period of time, nothing else mattered, nothing else existed.
nothing else mattered, nothing else existed.
